I expected the revisionist history -- I tend to think that any musical biopic is bound to be a lot fluffier and more censored than a biopic where people aren't breaking into painstakingly orchestrated and choreographed song and dance numbers.

The one thing that bugged me was that the movie has flashbacks confirming that he and his wife met when they were same-aged kids, but they still cast an actress over a decade younger than Hugh Jackman to play the wife as an adult.

Maybe, they thought, he played Wolverine, he's ageless! No but I agree. At the top of my head, I can't come up with someone (and that's with the idea that someone could ghost-sing for her like what they did with Rebecca Ferguson.

50yo - Laura Linney? Naomi Watts? (Google is my friend). Also, if I'm auditioning for this movie, I would be underwhelmed with Tightrope and the role in general.

Yeah, that track is kind of underwhelming.
It's not as catchy as This is Me or Never Enough, or as inspiring. The message seems to be "forget security, I'm going to follow my .... husband's ... dreams!"
