I expected the revisionist history -- I tend to think that any musical biopic is bound to be a lot fluffier and more censored than a biopic where people aren't breaking into painstakingly orchestrated and choreographed song and dance numbers.

The one thing that bugged me was that the movie has flashbacks confirming that he and his wife met when they were same-aged kids, but they still cast an actress over a decade younger than Hugh Jackman to play the wife as an adult.
