Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Sep. 20th, 2017 05:42 pmDisappointing.
While Julianne Moore is delicious as the Big Bad, it almost feels like a retread of the first one. And that had the element of surprise on its side. Jeff Bridges and Channing Tatum are elevated cameos with the little screentime they had, and while I dislike Halle Berry, I feel sorry for how much the script doesn't care about her or her angst. I don't care about her or Champ or Tequila, and the one new character that I do care about turns out to be an antagonist too. Pedro Pascal's Whiskey is just a fucking badass that it was irritating when I started to clue in on his impending heel turn. Oh, did you know that Roxy/Lancelot dies within the first 15 minutes of the movie? Fuck that noise! I can't belive they fridged basically the only woman field agent we've seen in the two movies, and they made a POC a villain. Mark Strong's Merlin is gone as well, sacrificing himself so that Harry & Eggsy could finish the mission. Aarrrgggh.
But DAMN, Pedro Pascal is fucking hot.
