They're showing Pleasantville on TV. I forgot how awesome it was, especially for its time. They all look so young -- Reese way before the drunken self-important rant, William H Macy before Shameless, and I always forget that Paul Walker was in this. So impossibly young and wholesome.

ETA: I love the ideas that it brings up about stagnation vs change, about the safety of the familiar vs the fear of the different. I also love that the agents of change 'Skip' and 'Mary Sue' change as much as the people in Pleasantville. It was kind of mind-blowing at the time but now looking at it from older eyes, I realize that what would have been absolutely revolutionary is to introduce the idea of homosexuality into the mix.

Also, every fandom should have a Pleasantville AU.

I had always felt that Pleasantville would've been a better movie if it had at least hinted at non straight sexuality, or, better yet, had a canonically bi or gay character.

And yes, wee baby Paul Walker.
