I definitely felt it too. This is the first time in over 30 years I watched the Oscars by myself, without a party, and one of the big reasons I have a party is so that I can endure them without having to watch that sort of thing. I cringed a lot. A LOT.
I expected better from him since he was throwing a little shade at Ellen last year for the pizza bit. I expected a spectacle like his acrobatic circus Tony-hosting spectacular. Sure, the singing was better than Hugh Jackman's year but every joke fell flat. And surprise, surprise, the biggest laugh was when he came out in his underwear.
Anyway, I'm glad that I didn't really have a horse in this race. It's going to be fun if next year, Eddie Redmayne receives a Razzie for Jupiter Ascending lol
