It's a great adaptation and they cast great kids. They also did the best thing for a gajillion page novel -- they concentrated on one timeline, hoping that it would be successful enough for a sequel and the rest of the story. The worst thing is they did Mike wrong; as much as I love Ben, the "historian" storyline was Mike's and it informs why he never leaves Derry and becomes the town librarian.
